Both the state House Finance Committee and the Senate Ways and Means Committee will hear minimum wage bills this week.

A coalition of labor and social-service groups has been urging House and Senate lawmakers to hear the new bills rather than take up a bill that stalled in conference committee last session.

The new bills increase the minimum wage, repeal the tip credit, and tie the minimum wage in the future to the Consumer Price Index.

The House Finance Committee will hear a minimum wage bill at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Senate Ways and Means Committee will hear a minimum wage bill for decision making at 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday.

Maybe the hearing should find out how
Chinese can make a dollar out of fifteen cents
and American make only fifteen cents out of a dollar.
