Gov. Neil Abercrombie had a fundraiser in Kahala on Saturday for his re-election campaign.

The recommended donation for the lunchtime event was $50 to $500.

Abercrombie is up against state Sen. David Ige in the Democratic primary.

Ige on Saturday held a grand opening of his campaign headquarters in the Varsity Building near the University of Hawaii-Manoa that featured former Gov. George Ariyoshi and former Gov. Ben Cayetano.

The recommended contribution for the Kahala fundraiser was $100-$500. NA is all about $ and more $. We will see how much good all that blood money does the current governor. At some point, people catch on and cannot be bought.

    Politicians are marionettes.
For two cents you get to see a puppet.
For thousands you get to pull its strings.

  3. Ella:

EI--In the current case, it seems that people are being paid to pull the strings. They are being politely called "Minders".

  4. Especially Incognito:

Then everyone is a marionette till they get real.
