So how did state Rep. James Tokioka hold two fundraisers yet not raise any money for his re-election campaign?

He didn't.

The Kauai Democrat said Sunday that he would amend his most recent state campaign-finance report to reflect money raised at fundraisers at the Mandalay in March and in Kahala in June. He said he does not fill out his own reports and the person who completed the paperwork was out of town. "I don't know what happened," he explained.

Tokioka is being challenged by Dylan Hooser, the son of Kauai County Councilman Gary Hooser, in the Democratic primary.

Whoa. Talk about marching over fresh, brand-spanking new out-of-the-munitions store ammunition for Tokioka's opponent (Hooser who -- pardon the pun -- has a lifetime poah t'ing card courtesy of Dr. Price's "ah you frahm hea?" comment). A Grease don't know how else you can slice and/or dice, "uh, if Tokioka's unable to keep accurate books on his fundraiser, how he going do that in office?"

So glad for Linda, though, getting her own share of candidates' campaign budgets (we know one great thing happening this campaign season, for sure) at her The Mandalay restaurant. A real diamond-in-the-rough among these other bloviated "celebrity" restaurants. Linda's folks makes great, plentiful, at a fair price food.

Papa Gary has that "poah ting . . ." card, that is. Transferable to son, I guess :| .

hmmm Wonder if his treasurer/accountant really was out of town? Should be pretty easy to find out. "Oh what a tangled web we weave..."

hmmm his treasurer still must be out of town. Something really stinks here. Meanwhile people are voting and Tokioka still has not filed.
