Direct mail

July 30th, 2014

The League of Conservation Voters, on behalf of U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz, and EMILY’s List, for U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, are expanding direct mail outreach to voters as the Democratic primary for Senate approaches.

The League of Conservation Voters plans to spend about $50,390 on two mailers for Schatz touting the senator’s endorsement by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and his support for national parks. The mailers bring the group’s independent spending in Hawaii to about $450,000.

Women Vote!, a political arm of EMILY’s List, which supports Democratic women who favor abortion rights, has spent another $46,250 on mailers for Hanabusa, according to federal independent expenditure reports. The group has spent about $338,570 in the islands during the primary.
