Forum foursome

August 14th, 2014

One of the first forums for the November general election season is set for later this month.

The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, a conservative public policy think tank, says all four of the candidates seeking the governor's office will be featured at its members-only "August Calabash" event.

Scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22, the four who are expected to attend are: Republican James "Duke" Aiona, Libertarian Jeff Davis, Independent Party candidate Mufi Hannemann and Democrat David Ige.

  1. Chicken Grease:

Wow. This also looks like a ". . . gentlemen will engageth in DUEL! armed with class 3 weapons (or below) of their choice . . ."

A Grease would not be so smug if I was an Ige/Tsutsui ticket. Hanneman could very well come out as a Hannibal mid-campaign where one, verily and incidentally at this juncture, challenges him to a duel, in fact.

    • If (from today's Honolulu Star Advertiser page B1 story, "Hanabusa files legal challenge" [of which's outcome we know already) the following HanaBuSa recent Freudian slip ain't enough for the majority of Puna residents to cast their votes for Schatz (and make those of you who voted for HanaBuSa now regret your vote for her) . . .

. . . the question is, why would they rushh the situation when people are still trying to regain fundamental things like power [emphasis mine]

. . . then is there hope for you? Can just see Hanabusa's handlers ixnaying her, "'ELECTRICITY'!!!! Not 'POWER.' You SHOULD'VE said 'electr . . .', oh, well . . . hey, is that more chili?"

    • Congrats to Agent Deedy. He showed his badge. He did the right thing. And, uh, if the prosecutor's office decides to waste our tax dollars and try to prosecute this case AGAIN? A Grease says, as much he respects that office, the prosecutor's office should be investigated. And it MAY be done by the Feds.

  2. Hmmm:

Stupid... Nothing for Ige to gain by meeting With right wingers who will try to youtube him in an embarrassing moment...

  3. innocent observer:

dd is a farce, he came here acting big, picked a fight for no good reason and shot an unarmed person for nothing. how can that be self defense when he started the whole thing? I just hope the family of elderts sue the dd's ass and get a huge award, more than any insurance coverage. that guy has no remorse; he did not even apologize to elderts family. what a dufus. don't worry, what goes around come around, someday, he will get what he deserves. bachi to him for life. he is nothing more than a punk.
